Gagosian Gallery

  May 3, 2019 - July 3, 2019

Exhibition

In early summer 2019, Kluge-Ruhe loaned its painting, Hungry Emus by Emily Kame Kngwarreye, to the exhibition Desert Painters of Australia at Gagosian Gallery in New York City, which mostly comprised works collection by actor and comedian Steve Martin.

As part of this collaboration, Kluge-Ruhe Director Margo Smith AM and Curator Henry F. Skerritt participated in a panel discussion with Fred Myers, Silver Professor of Anthropology at New York University. This event explored the relevancy of Australian Aboriginal art within the global contemporary art movement. Click here to watch the panel discussion.

The exhibition and Kluge-Ruhe were featured in Gagosian Gallery’s Quarterly Summer 2019 publication.
