In celebration of NAIDOC week 2017, Kluge-Ruhe offered a morning of activities focused on the importance of the Aboriginal flag. The morning was kicked off with a ceremony to raise the Aboriginal flag, including a poetry reading of Romaine Moreton’s “Surprise you by my will.” Then participants connected over billy tea and bush bread, followed by a tour of the current exhibitions by Director Margo Smith that focused on the 2017 theme “Our Languages Matter.” The day finished with an intergenerational woodblock printmaking workshop, where each participant took home a print of the Aboriginal flag.
