Healing Country
For Indigenous people in Australia, the word ‘Country’ means much more than just a place. Country is an overarching term for the lands, waters, animals, sky, and flora for which a particular group, clan or individual has ancestral ties and stewardship responsibilities. This program will explore work by 5 Aboriginal and Torres Strait artists who address current concerns for Country, while honoring their ancestral ties. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on their own relationship to country.
Join the education team of the Kluge Ruhe Collection for this virtual program offered in observance of NAIDOC week, an annual celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contributions.
Note: This program will take place on July 8 at 7:00 pm EST (Eastern Standard Time). This is 4:00 pm PDT (Pacific Daylight Time) or July 9 at 9:00 am AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time).
