CANCELLED: Intimate Strangers: Interspecies Communication Meets the Secret Life of Antiques

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS CONCERNS. WE HOPE TO RESCHEDULE THIS EVENT FOR FALL 2020.

The Fralin Museum of Art at UVA and the Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection of UVA have teamed together to present a new program: Intimate Strangers. Because we believe that museums are conveners of big ideas, two knowledgeable individuals (one UVA faculty member and one member of the Charlottesville community) will each give a 20 minute talk to enlighten you on their area of expertise. The talks aren’t related, but let’s find out if ideas merge afterward during the Q&A session.

In this iteration, Rosalyn Berne will discuss her knowledge of communication among animals, plants and humans, and Robin Slaats of Circa will explore what happens to antiques over time and their role in our lives. Registration is required; the link will be available soon.
