Night at the Museum with The Sally Rose Band

$5 non-members, FREE for museum members

Join us for Night at the Museum, your opportunity to explore our exhibitions after hours and enjoy the best food, libations and music in Charlottesville! In July we’re featuring the Charlottesville-based, Sally Rose Band,  beer from Champion Brewing, wine from Knight’s Gambit Vineyard, and a few of Charlottesville’s best food trucks. The event also has a Kids Zone with Australian-themed children’s activities and a Flat Chat Tour, a ten-minute discussion about an artwork on view. And all of it happens outside at our beautiful location on Pantops, one of the best hidden spots to watch the sunset in Charlottesville. Seating is very limited so we encourage you to bring your own blanket or chairs for comfort!

Not a member? Now is your chance to become one! A special membership offer of $25 per household will be available at the door. In addition to free admission to Night at the Museum all summer long, you’ll receive other great benefits of membership: a 20% discount in our gift shop, invitations to special events and receptions with artists, and advanced notice of upcoming programs.

ABOUT THE SALLY ROSE BAND

Sally Rose released four independent albums between ages 16-23. Her earnest lyrics and honey grit hit hard with a full band beginning in 2014. She croons about ghosts, witches, heartache and the feminist agenda. Catherine Monnes sews in her spellbinding melodies with rough water cello and electric violin. Sweet Pete Stallings adds Pixies-esque undertones on electric guitar, co-writing a handful of the songs. Benjamin Jensen and David Jacobs tighten the mix with a driving rhythm section. Together, mother and daughter sing haunting, blood harmonies that intertwine seamlessly.

ABOUT CHAMPION BREWING

Champion is Virginia’s most progressive brewery, producing a wide variety of ales in four locations: their downtown Charlottesville tap room, their Belmont production facility, the restaurant Brasserie Saison, and their Richmond tap room. Champion’s participation in Night at the Museum at Kluge-Ruhe this summer will feature constantly rotating taps and one-off beers.

ABOUT KNIGHT’S GAMBIT VINEYARD

Founded in 2003, Knight’s Gambit Vineyard is a family-run winery near Whitehall covering five acres of Petit Verdot, Grigio Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
