Welcome to our collection online. We hope these pages will inspire further exploration of Indigenous Australian art and culture both online and in our galleries.
The objects currently featured in this database are highlights of our permanent collection, which consists of more than 2100 artworks. We are dedicated to increasing the number of works featured here and ensuring that the information about each object is as up-to-date as possible. If you are an Indigenous knowledge holder and/or a scholar and you have important information about any of the objects you see, please let us know by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org .
The strengths of our collection are bark paintings from Arnhem Land in northern Australia and acrylic paintings on board and canvas from the central desert region, but our collection is steadily growing. Every year we acquire new historical and contemporary works from across the continent. If you have Indigenous Australian art and you are interested in donating it to Kluge-Ruhe to support the expansion of our collection, please contact us .
Copyright for the images of these objects is a serious matter. We have obtained appropriate permission for every object published here. Please contact the proper individuals, agencies or art center if you are interested in using images for any purpose beyond personal use.
